My blogger-personality Talatu-Carmen reflects my rapidly developing multiple personalities, and embodies my chronic inability to focus on just one thing--which is probably a very bad thing for a phd student--I fall in love with so many different things, which I don't have the time for: writing, photography, traveling, and most recently very tentative forays into acting. My blog Abubuwan da nake tunani chronicles the things that flit across my mind often when I am procrastinating my school work. Since my graduate work is in African literature and since I grew up in Nigeria, most of my posts have to do with Africa, Nigeria, or Hausa culture. In the blog Abubuwan da nake Rubutawa, I place larger chunks of text (short stories, translation projects, film and book reviews) that I'd like to get feedback on. Please feel free to comment, but please do not use, quote, or re-post anything from these blogs without first requesting my permission.
Hurray!!!I kept a vigil on the election day and what a sweet sensation it was watching the Obama hurricane sweep the whole of the US.POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
Yes, I stayed up all night watching CNN, AlJazeera, and BBC, and that sweet, sweet moment when the Obama family walked on stage was worth every minute of lost sleep. :-)
